Heyooo everybody! March 7, 2016
Nothing too exciting happened this week, which kinda sucks. The family
we had on baptism date was sick so we couldn't visit with them. A lot
of administrative stuff this week with the transfers. We had 5
companionships get traded up in our zone of 9. So we have some fresh
blood to work with.
I hope I don't get meeting fatigue this week. We have a meeting every
day. Tomorrow is Interviews with president, Wednesday is mission
leadership council, Thursday is zone training prep, Friday is zone
training, Saturday is a conference with with Elder Stevenson from the
quorum of the 12. Sunday is church, and that goes with all the
meetings that church requires. Then next week we are prepping for
stake reports, so a lot of office work. The glory though is that
there's a baptism that weekend, and we are excited because this area
hasn't baptized in a year.
Went to this place called Oak Park mall. I think it's in one of the
top 12 biggest malls in the US. It might be one of the fanciest too.
We went there so Elder Torrico could get a suit that fits, so we
invited a few companionships along with us and showed them how to
personal contact in public places. I love doing that because there is
people everywhere, it gets your blood rushing, and it's sketchy. My
cup of tea.
We had this thing called the Mini MTC this week for all the youth in
the stake. I trained on chapter 10 of preach my gospel. Which BTW is
my favorite chapter. These teenage kids spent all day in this Mini MTC
and then they went and tracted for 2 hours. I don't think I've ever
tracted that long before! But while I was teaching the class, I
discerned that something wasn't right, and during the prayer I
received the prompting to say this "I don't know why I'm saying this.
But I feel that there is someone in this room that needs to know that
the Lord knows your heart, and he is going to watch over you today. He
loves you, and he wants you to know that you are going to be fine."
The girl in the front row began to sob. I had never really noticed the
spirit speaking through me at the time, but then the girl got up later
that night to bare testimony of the account. She gave us 4 referrals.
I feel like the youth are going to be the drive for success in this
area.
Talked to a member about military service a few days ago, he was from
the Navy. I expressed that I might consider that route for schooling
and such. He gave me some good pointers for Psychology, and business.
I hope to use those some day. :) maybe that will be my route, it's
going to take some prayer. Either that or BYUI. I'm not sure, I do
have 8 months to figure it out though.
Well, that about caps out my week.
Have a great week everyone!
Love you.
