I had a good week. Holy Moses it has been so crazy! We had transfers.
I didn't get transferred but a new area was opened up in our zone.
They didn't have a place to stay or a car to drive. So they are living
with us for a while until we can get that settled. It has been
interesting to set up. Honestly, a pain in my butt. But I am so happy
we have Elders in Kansas City.
The baptism went really well! He invited the youth from Kansas City,
and Independence stakes. We had 80 people attend! That's insane! What
a stud! This kid has shown me how the gospel can change a life in 3
months.
We have 5 out of the 9 companionships that are training new
missionaries. I love new missionaries. Their zeal for the work is just
fascinating. What I tell new missionaries is that they need to lock
into their minds that the 18 or 24 months they are on their missions
are not theirs. That time is the Lord’s. They are going to devote
their skills and talents full-time to help build His kingdom. When
missionaries think that way, they don’t have trouble following the
mission rules. They don’t resist the counsel of the mission president,
the guidelines in Preach My Gospel, and the counsel of the General
Authorities. They embrace that counsel because they don’t want to
waste one minute of the Lord’s time.
We are meeting with Elder Neal L. Andersen today, I love the
opportunities we have as missionaries to meet these brethren. I am
anxiously waiting!
